Perhaps it is just me, but this panel discussion about a potential Michael Jackson biopic published by AMC Entertainment, Inc. just “rubbed” me the wrong way. I felt the need to write a letter to the company that I would like to share with all of you.

Dear AMC:
I was most disappointed in a recent AMC Entertainment segment containing a panel of people discussing a potential Michael Jackson biopic. I would have thought, at least, the members of this panel would have done a little more homework on Michael Jackson and the facts surrounding his life. The jokes about Blanket Jackson, Michael Jackson’s 11 year old son, were highly inappropriate. Here is the segment that I am referring to:
The two guys on the left displayed juvenile humor and their sources seem to be TMZ sound bites. That the behavior of Ray Charles and Johnny Cash, well documented womanizers and drug addicts, was excusable because people “like” a “bad” boy reputation is inconceivable to me. These two panelists inferred that Jackson was guilty because he was accused. The reference to Michael Jackson as a drug addict who was out of control was not accurate at all which was shown in the recent Katherine Jackson vs. AEG trial. Though Jackson had an off again, on again struggle with prescription pain medication, largely as a result of horrific burns to his scalp while filming a Pepsi commercial, he repeatedly sought help both publicly and privately. There was no evidence presented at the trial to suggest that he was “out of control” in the 5 years prior to his death as your guy stated in this piece. At the time of his death, his publicly available autopsy report showed the only drugs in his system were those administered to him by a doctor for treating insomnia. Jackson suffered from insomnia for most of his life and sought treatment, perhaps unconventional, but always under the care of a physician. The cause of his death was propofol poisoning for which the doctor, Conrad Murray, who treated him was convicted of manslaughter and served jail time. In a widely publicized trial, it was shown that Murray committed 17 egregious errors in caring for his one and only patient. There is absolutely no proof that Jackson was an out of control drug addict.
The contrast in how Michael Jackson is discussed by those in the media compared to Elvis is appalling. Elvis Presley was a known pedophile and a prescription drug addict who self-administered the drugs that killed him. Moving a 14 year old girl into his home should have gotten him a statutory rape charge but all that has been conveniently whitewashed. He is now only known as the “King of Rock.”
Perhaps Oliver Stone, as one of the panelists suggests in jest, is a good choice to produce/direct a Michael Jackson biopic. Mr. Stone could perhaps shed light on why the media and law enforcement abused their power and colluded to take down the most powerful artist in entertainment history with bogus allegations and criminal charges over a period of 20 or more years. Was it because he was Black? Or, because he was different?
There are several books that shed light on the allegations and trial of Michael Jackson. They would be an excellent start and an easy read for the panelists.
Michael Jackson Conspiracy by Aphrodite Jones
Was Michael Jackson Framed? The Untold Story That Brought Down A Superstar by Mary Fischer.
In addition, there are trial transcripts, FBI files, and child protective services documents that are available that clearly demonstrate Jackson’s innocence of the crimes he continues to be accused of even though he was acquitted on all charges. The public has been thoroughly misled by media so perhaps a movie based on actual facts could help educate these panelists and the public.
I am thoroughly disappointed in this panel and its lack of informed opinion. At least two of them made no attempt to treat the subject fairly. I hope they at least consider learning more about the greatest artistic genius of our time.
Sincerely,
MJTruthNow
P.S. I actually did mail this letter to AMC Entertainment, Inc. under my own name and included my address.
